About me
I'm Jane Winson UKCP registered psychotherapist, I am what is known as a systemic psychotherapist and I am also a qualified supervisor. I am a white British female, now in my 50s,and I have had the benefit of various life experiences (some easier to navigate than others) which helps inform my practice. Alongside this I have been a counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer for over 15 years working within the NHS, voluntary sector and privately.
Before becoming a therapist, I ran my own successful retail business, navigating the challenges of the 2008 financial crisis. That experience taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of working smarter, not harder - insights that continue to inform my practice today.
My approach is shaped by both my professional training and the diverse experiences I’ve encountered throughout life. I understand that life brings both rewarding and difficult moments. These experiences help me connect with clients in a meaningful way, offering a professional yet compassionate space for exploration, growth, and change.

The training I have undertaken is accredited, having completed my Masters at Exeter I have developed a keen interest in evidence based practice. I regularly participate in Continual Professional Development (CPD) and have a particular interest and experience in working with trauma and unwanted experiences that have happened to clients. I am a keen horse rider and can support managing anxiety and nerves in a competitive environment.
